Collapsible

[edit]

Does anyone object if I make each of these games collapsible, such that you can look at the page and just see the scores without all the noise of lineups and substitution, &c (information that will still be readily available)? Will also post at the mid-year page where more people might see it sooner. My Dinner With Andre The Giant (talk) 18:31, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There really is no point. Rugby.change (talk) 21:04, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Games still missing references

[edit]

Hi all, I added references for all the games that I could find, however we're still missing info on the following matches:

Week 2 - Georgia vs Canada Week 3 - Georgia vs United States - Russia vs Japan - French Barbarians vs Samoa Week 4 - Georgia vs Samoa - Spain vs Japan

If nothing's added in the next day or so, I'm going to remove those games. Grande (talk) 13:25, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I added the Georgia fixtures a while ago due to the announcement on twitter. [1]. Although twitter is not an expectable source for an articles, but at the moment the fixtures are true.
Like wise for Samoa. I got the fixtures off the announcement on Facebook. [2]. But again Facebook can't be used for source on an article.
I've added the source for the Spain v Japan match so cross that off the list, and for the Russia v Japan, I read it on a website and heard about it off a reliable source on twitter, but no official announcement for the Russia Rugby Union or the JRFU. I will remove the fixture if nothing comes up in a week or so.Rugby.change (talk) 14:49, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the matches I mentioned, but left the Japan games for now. I'm especially cautious of re-adding the Canada/USA games, because one of them is supposed to be playing Uruguay for the World Cup qualification around the same time. As well, both Rugby Canada and USA Rugby are usually pretty good about mentioning games that they'll be playing, and neither of them have done so about Georgia or Romania. Tri-Nations Tournaments

[edit]

Why was the Namibian tri-nations removed, but the Sri Lankan tri-nations remains? Either both should be there, or both should be removed. Personally, I think they should get their own articles and be listed under "See Also" or something, but that's my opinion. Grande (talk) 15:27, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Preliminaries?

[edit]

Dose anybody disagree with the matches in the Preliminaries section. If not, is it worth adding the fixture between Uzbekistan and the Moscow Dragons on 2 November. It is the Dragons first match against an IRB nation so, yea.Rugby.change (talk) 23:32, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Honestly, I'm not a fan of them. They're outside the test window, and they're not real "tests." I'm more okay with Uzbekistan/Moscow because it's within the test window, but I feel like this should be mostly country vs country games, plus teams like the Barbarians, etc. Grande (talk) 12:32, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Closest losing margins

[edit]

Do we need to note "closest losing margin" when a team has previously achieved a better result in the fixture? A closing losing margin has been noted for Scotland v Australia (Scotland have beaten Australia several times), and Ireland against New Zealand (Ireland have drawn with New Zealand) - does including this information make any difference? --Bcp67 (talk) 17:31, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That would make sense. Let's delete it. – PeeJay 20:09, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Done. --Bcp67 (talk) 05:49, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

More trivia crap

[edit]

If we're going to have trivia below matches, can we make sure it's sourced and accurate? Just deleted a line claiming that 10 tries is a record for an international year - nothing of the sort, the record is 17. If this is some other record, could we see a bit more detail and source? Cheers. --Bcp67 (talk) 16:57, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think it meant it was a record for Australia, or did I read it wrong? Either way, you're right that it needs a source. – PeeJay 01:40, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks PeeJay - have reinstated it with Australia mentioned and sourced it. --Bcp67 (talk) 05:53, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
that was for the wallabies and 10 is their record..so its not a trivia but more of a stat..and I'm not in the habit of adding crap thank you.when i added it, no media had actually 'mentioned' it.--Stemoc (talk) 11:19, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think perhaps if no media have mentioned it, it's not worth adding. We're not in the habit of adding original research to Wikipedia, after all. – PeeJay 12:02, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Stemoc, apologies - I could have titled this section in a more seemly manner. I just see a lot of "stuff" on these pages below the match details and some of it isn't always the best-researched or sourced - fair enough, this one is a genuine record and I did find an online source for it. --Bcp67 (talk) 20:22, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
