Ana name
There have already been two cyclones by the same name in two different basins, if a tropical cyclone forms, the most prone will be the South-West Indian Ocean. What should we do so that some people are not confused?
Tropical Storm Ana (Atlantic, 2021) Cyclone Ana (South Pacific, 2021) Cyclone Ana (South West, 2021)
Tell us not to be confused by the same name.--МОДОКАУ 03:42, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- First, exclude the Atlantic Ocean's 2021 Tropical Storm Ana from this discussion as it was not notable enough to warrant an individual storm article. That said, if a Cyclone Ana forms in the South-West Indian Ocean in December '21 and becomes notable enough to warrant an individual article, I imagine that the article would be titled something like Cyclone Ana (December 2021) and the existing Cyclone Ana page would be moved to something like Cyclone Ana (January 2021). Now, if a notable Cyclone Ana forms in the SWIO in January '22, I suppose its article title would be something like Cyclone Ana (2022) and the other article's title changed to Cyclone Ana (2021) perhaps. We shall have to wait until events unfold. Drdpw (talk) 17:16, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- Ultimately solved by the inactivity of this basin! 🐱💬 06:03, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Meow: The previous record was January 16. 🐔dat (talk) 10:59, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
Do we have a citation for ZODW 1 marking the latest formation for a season? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:05, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- Maybe find someone who can read French. 🐔dat (talk) 10:52, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
If this source is reliable, could someone add it in
Sadly, I have come across this source saying TD01 (07S) has done 10+ deaths. If this is reliable can this be added in please https://www.africanews.com/2022/01/18/10-killed-by-floods-in-madagascar/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.17.125.143 (talk) 18:32, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- It is already listed in the 2022 Antananarivo floods article. TD01 did not cause the 10 deaths, but floods 4 days earlier did. Elijahandskip (talk) 18:38, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Hi, i made Cyclone Batsirai draft, you are welcome to improve. thank you HurricaneEdgar 00:03, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
- HurricaneEdgar, I don't think a draft is needed, as it's not going affect any islands, although some forecast do suggests that the cyclone may impact the islands of Reunion and Mauritius. But anyways lets see. Beraniladri19 🌀🌀 16:42, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
- If it ends up striking Madagascar in six days or so, an article will be warranted. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:01, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hurricanehink, That's also possible.... Beraniladri19 🌀🌀 19:39, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
- The latest JTWC prognostic reasoning: AFTER TAU 72, THE GFS AND GEFS ENSEMBLE MEAN INDICATE A WESTWARD TRACK TOWARD LANDFALL IN CENTRAL MADAGASCAR, AND THE REMAINING GUIDANCE INDICATES A SHARPER TURN TOWARD THE SOUTH. Yea, this draft is still definitely needed. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 05:08, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- Also, I would request not to copy the meteorological history of Batsirai; otherwise what's the point in making the draft ? Here it's written in brief, but in the draft, it's meant to give a detailed meteorological history of the system. Beraniladri19 🌀🌀 05:52, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

Over the next 24 hours, we should get this draft live. It’s within a few days of a very strong landfall in a flood prone country. Also, it will be nice if we could have a draft for cyclones in Madagascar. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 05:42, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
That’s great. Just an hour ago I was hoping someone had started making a draft. (IP Address would not like to be shown due to safety) 14:52, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
Update, I published the draft, it is now live. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:25, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
Hi, everone since the storm currently threatening Madagascar. similar track of Batsirai i already decide make Draft the storm, you are welcome to improve it thank you. HurricaneEdgar 13:21, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
Moderate Tropical Storm Dumako
Dumako brought moderate damage to Madagascar and Mozambique and killed 14 people. I believe that Dumako is worthy of its own page. For example, Hurricane Gert in 2017 caused 2 deaths and barely any damage but got a page. So for a storm that caused moderate damage and 14 fatalities, I think Dumako deserves its own page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hurricane Su (talk • contribs) 19:25, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Hurricane Su: I agree with you, it needs an article. But the problem is who will write it? I can't make it cuz my finals are ongoing.. We also don't have many experience editors who can create a good quality article. Beraniladri19 🌀🌀 14:04, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
Yeah. I think we could try to make a draft of it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hurricane Su (talk • contribs) 17:53, 21 February 2022 (UTC)
