Publishing Date

I'm not sure the book was published in 1999. That may be the paperback release, but the original hardcover edition came out in 1997 I believe. ISFDB says 1997, but I'll wait until another source is found to confirm this. MrLeo 20:25, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

I think the UK release of Clash may actually have been late 1998, but I was going by the author's website as well. Brendan Moody 21:11, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

Yep, the UK edition came out in October 1998. Amusingly and ironically given the Feast for Crows situation, there was some grumbling from fans and magazines when it was published that it was several months behind schedule! I've done some minor alterations and added a list of award nominations. I still need to do some other things (mentioning the Meisha Merlin edition illustrated by John Howe would be a good idea) and I also note that the plot summary situation has not been addressed since the above. AGoT's is okay (a bit vague though, given it's spoiler-warned) but the three subsequent books have little more than a "THE STORY CONTINUES..." feel to them. I'm not advocating a blow-by-blow account of the plot, but a general overview. I will attempt this myself if no-one objects, but will leave it for now.--Werthead 20:26, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Policy concerns

I'm concerned that article may be in violation of WP:NOT#INDISCRIMINATE section seven; if so, it would be quite borderline, but another section of non-summary material would go a long way in eliminating this concern. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what may be added?MPoint

The article does mention awards won and translations of the book. It would be nice to discuss critics' analysis of the book, but I don't know how much analysis has been done of it. It's not exactly The Brothers Karamazov. That said, I agree that the summary is quite long. Plot summary

This page needs a better plot summary. 24.187.68.25 suggested what I understand is the publisher's blurb, but from what I can see that contained even less information than the current summary, so I reverted it. (Also, I am not sure if that isn't a violation of copyright, though I guess it falls under "fair use.") What we need are a few paragraphs that actually summarize the book. Spoilers for future books
