al-Masri
According to the US, Muhajir IS al-Masri. I think it's too early to merge articles etc., but I have made a reference in the article. - Dark Prime, June 17th 2006
New article
I started up this article on al-Qaeda's new leader in Iraq. At the moment, little is known about him. - Dark Prime, June 12th 2006
- Consider removing the reference to Top Gun, it is completely off-topic and is laughable.
- Please read your talk page. - Dark Prime, June 12th 2006
BBC and naming problems
BBC call's him "Mujahir" here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/5074202.stm, then later calls him by the correct name. Not the first time BBC gets names wrong. Skinnyweed 06:45, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
lol, that's what I first read it as when I first read the article...Blue Mirage 00:05, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well they're managed to correct it now. Skinnyweed 17:42, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
It is confirmed that both Abu Ayyad al-Masri and Abu Hamzah al-Muhajir are the same person no need to merge articles, no need to create a seperate article for him just use the name as an alias. - Knight
Article should be merged
This is the same person as Abu-Masri http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Ayyub_al-Masri.
- The stories I've seen so far are "This is who the CIA thinks he really is." It should be mentioned, but I'd wait a few days before merging. --Falcorian (talk) 17:13, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'm the one who tweaked the sentence in the al-Masri article that says "Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, recently named as Zarqawi's successor as leader of the organization, may be an alias that refers to al-Masri.[1]". That statement is based on this reference, which says "Some analysts say Muhajir may be a nom de guerre for Egyptian militant Abu Ayyub al-Masri". The source cited does not state that they are definitely the same person. (Sobesurfski 21:32, 15 June 2006 (UTC))
- If you look at Zarqawi's page, his successor is mentioned as Abu-Masri and then in paranthesis al-Muhajir. I see no reason this page should be seperate from Abu-Masri. It should be merged, because right now it's making it look as if they are two seperate people, when every indication has pointed to them being one and the same. Merge-tag restored. --BlueTruth 19:31, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- At this point I agree. It was premature previously but it's appropriate now. (Sobesurfski 21:50, 20 June 2006 (UTC))

I agree, they should be merged. Rangeley 22:16, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
Merge, on to this page. 168.169.60.75 19:02, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
I still have not seen a clear source on it, I oppose. --Falcorian (talk) 15:04, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
Cleanup
This article somehow has multiple referencing styles despite barely escaping stubness. I will try and cleanup and wikify tomorrow. Regards, DRK 07:03, 30 September 2006 (UTC)
It's the same guy as Abu Ayyub
Merged. Noboby who knows anything about al-Qaeda, including al-Qaeda, denies that they are the same person.

If somebody wants to start a Wiki article about a 2006 rumour from an Egyptian lawyer, go ahead, but don't call it "Abu Hamza al-Muhajir".

- Article should not be merged. You can't be the father of two different eldest sons. Also, the group Islamic State of Iraq uses the name al-Muhajir and never mentioned al-Masri. It is only U.S. officials who try to assert that they are the same person and they are not credible because it benefits their PR campaign to promote this story regardless of the truth. -TruthSeeker777 17:59, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
http://www.nctc.gov/site/profiles/al_masri.html They are the same person.
Ofiicially "al-Muhajer"
The officical name of the man is "Abu Hamza Al-Muhajer" translated literally "Father of Hamza, the Immigrant." It's the name officially used by Al-Qaeda affiliates. It is also the name used in Islamic State of Iraq's media publications. There's nothing actually proves that the man is aka "Abu Ayyoub Al-Masri" other than what US army officials said. I strongly suggest that the "Abu Ayyoub Al-Masri" page is directed to "Abu Hamza Al-Muhajer" for the sake of accuracy and correctness. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.71.37.109 (talk) 10:29, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
merged
I redirected to Abu Ayyub al-Masri which seems to contain all the information in this article (but if people check history and find further material to merge, please do so). Be aware, that article is currently tagged for cleanup-rewrite. IMHO that article is better formatted and written but that is just my humble opinion. The Arabic needs to be checked; one name is missing. RJFJR (talk) 16:15, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
