I am unaware of the Achmatowicz reaction, but the reaction of furan with bromine in methanol is an Organic Synthesis prep from 1960. See http://www.orgsyn.org/demo.aspx?prep=CV5P0403. The Organic Synthesis preparation reports dihydrofurans had been prepared with a variety of reagents, including bromine by Fakstorp in 1950. In this light, Achmatowicz is getting a larger amount of credit than those having reported this reaction earlier. Petedskier (talk) 06:45, 15 May 2015 (UTC)

Dort steht etwas von Chiral Pool aber die Reaktion enthält genau keine chirale Verbindung und da kann daher nur der racemische Komplex entstehen. Gleicher Fehler ist auch in der enWP und dieser Artikel wurde ohne drüber nachzudenken übersetzt. In der zitierten Literatur werden aber tatsächlich enantiomerenreine Verbindungen als Auxiliar zugesetzt. --141.51.38.93 15:20, 13. Mär. 2019 (CET)
