Additional sources

[edit]

On the Afghanistan Relief Organization site is a page entitled "In the News". There's a pdf reproduction of a Los Angeles Weekly article by Ann Marlow, entitled Southern Californians build a terrific school in Kabul. Unfortunately, the only detail given is the date "2005". Maybe someone could root out the original so that it can be used as a source? Esowteric (talk) 18:51, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article turns up in Yahoo! cache, but is coming out blank at the permalink and the cache doesn't show the date the article was posted (presumably 10/2005). Esowteric (talk) 19:16, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's from LA Weekly blogs dated 10/2005. The text of the article is reproduced as a pdf on the ARO site here. The title shows up in Yahoo! here but is blank when clicked on, though the cached file may be seen. Esowteric (talk) 19:33, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The first few lines can be found on the way back machine here, but the rest of the article ("read more ...") is not available. Nevertheless, the staff blog is confirmed and available from the front page of the LA Weekly for 31 October 2005. Esowteric (talk) 20:04, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

News post-2007

[edit]

The web site content and reliable, notable third party sources peter out circa 2007. New news would be appreciated. Have emailed the ARO pointing them to this article and also mentioning this concern. Esowteric (talk) 09:20, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article research leads

[edit]

I haven't found reliable third party sources, but here's a lead to the 2007 Rebuild Afghanistan Summit, for the San Francisco Bay area. It is featured on the Rabia Balkhi Hospital Project for the hospital of the same name in Kabul, Afghanistan.

On the site is a pdf presented by ARO: ARO's statement for the Summit which contains a lot of primary unverified detail which may provide leads. Esowteric (talk) 10:13, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ARO was also a 2008 Summit participant. Esowteric (talk) 10:21, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
