Cast section: seeking consensus

There are persistent changes in the article to the cast listing (adding removing actors, changing the order, changing the roles). This section is to serve as a place for editors to discuss and get consensus on who should be in the list, in which order, and, possibly, in what role they play, keeping in mind that Wikipedia's content policy for Verifiability says that all content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material.  — Archer1234 (t·c) 13:20, 27 April 2023 (UTC) Below are tables of cast members identifying the source that verifies their participation/appearance in the film. I have not found reliable sources for actors beyond these and for some of supporting cast I have not found sources for the name of their character/role.

You are all invited and encouraged to share your views on the "Cast" section. I am seeking consensus so that we can avoid edit-wars amongst multiple editors wanting to impose their own views on how best to display the cast. I have offered some of my views above, but I do not seek to impose them. I shared them to give a starting point for a discussion. Hey @Archer1234 so personally the cast order I would rather use is the one the team of the film gave in both the trailer and teaser primarily the trailer as that is the latest order. Until we get concrete evidence from the film's digital release on what the cast order really is for the film, my suggestion is the one given in the trailer's description as that is directly from the team. @SP013, that sounds reasonable to me. The order from the tailer is:

• Akhil Akkineni
• Mammootty
• Dino Morea
• Sakshi Vaidya

That takes care of the top/starring cast.

What about the supporting cast? The Times of India 25 April 2023 article lists, in addition to the top cast, the following actors in the following order:

• Vikramjeet Virk
• Denzil Smith
• Sampath Raj

Of course, that same reference is primarily about Urvashi Rautela, but I would put her last as a "special appearance" given that she apparently appears only in the "Wild Saala" song scene.

Has anyone seen the film and, especially, the credits? I would like to get a list of the exact names used by the filmmakers in the credits for the names of the characters or descriptions of the roles. I think the cast listing should, at a minimum, list those names and I would not list the full name and title of any character unless the filmmakers list them that way in the credits. In general, those same names/roles should be the ones used in the "Plot" or "Premise" section, although if there is consensus for using something different then that would govern. Whether we show more in the "Cast" section should be discussed. I do not think we should describe, in the cast section, anything else about the characters/roles that is already covered in the plot/premise section. I would also limit any additional information in the cast section except possibly to note a "cameo" or "special appearance". Finally, I would divide the "Cast" section into two or possibly, three parts:

• Top cast (or "Starring" or something similar; the actors listed here would likely match the list in the infobox)
• Supporting cast (other actors with more than trivial lines/roles)
• Other cast (or "Other appearances" or "Cameos" or "Special appearances" or those descriptions could be added after each actor's name in parentheis (e.g, "John Smith (cameo)" or "Joseph Kumar (special appearance)")

Finally, ideally every cast member should have at least one online published reliable source cited (other than the film itself) to verify their appearance. If an online published reliable source is not available, then before the name is added, it should be discussed on the talk page to get consensus for its addition. This would apply in situations like, for example, where an actor is listed in the credits, but is not identified in any online reliable sources.
