Missing the Anti-Civil Rights Aspect?

That isn’t talking about Vietnam War Protestors, who were not known for coming to Southern towns to make their point. That is clearly talking about Civil Rights Activists. “Last Summer” when this was first sung meant 1965, the summer of the Selma march and Bloody Sunday.
