My name[edit]

My names is Alex Jones. Can you add an article with my name so I can add my name to this list? How about Alex Jones (unemployed)? Also, you would need to add it to the disambiguation, I can't add it there since I don't have an account. Also, I'm Armenian-American, my mother Armenian since both her parents are Armenian, and my father an American. 2602:306:CE62:8430:8CF3:1E54:F8EE:BFA0 (talk) 12:50, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

"Alexandria" is an unusual personal name. Is perhaps "Alexandra" meant?

I think Alexandria is the female form of Alexandra. -- Sam — Preceding undated comment added 07:51, November 6, 2002
Alexander == male, Alexandra + Alexandria (+ Alexandrea?) == female —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boffy b (talkcontribs) 12:59, August 3, 2005

Meaning of "Alex"[edit]

WHat about the meaning OF "Alex" I believe it normally means something to the effect of "Defender of Man, or Defender of Mankind" The "The ALex" refers to defend, and the aner, or ander, like andrew, refers to "of men" (April 21)— Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 15:02, April 21, 2003

Clockwork Orange[edit]

I believe Alex of Clockwork Orange fame has the last name DeLarge, but this could just be an addition for the film or a fact not mentioned in the book but held to be true. -- Jeremy (not yet a registered user) — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 00:42, December 6, 2004

Removed insult[edit]

Got rid of an insulting personal comment from someone(?) to someone else (?)— Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 23:24, February 1, 2005

Alexander and Alexandra[edit]

I would suggest two improvements to the "Alex is sometimes short for Alexander and Alexandra" claim:

1) Move it to the article proper (the introduction) 2) Make the names wiki-links so you can click them

Thx (talk) 13:00, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Male and female[edit]

I would suggest each entry is marked male or female. Otherwise the only way to know the entries' gender is to click each and every link. (talk) 13:02, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Don't forget this is a dab page and is not here to give info but to aid navigation to the article being sought. Abtract (talk) 23:18, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

An Alex, the current prize of photoshop[edit]

I think the contrebution about "An Alex" should be put back in place in "Other usage". This makes it easyer to find the article you are interested in.

Famous Alexs[edit]

Aren't there any other famous alexs? There's so many famous Toms for instance (Cruise, Waits, Yorke, Petty, Jones) or famous Davids or Michaels, but there really don't seem to be any famous Alexs... what's the deal with that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 08:40, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Alex can be a given name[edit]

Alex can be a full given name, my full name is Alex. Stop changing it because it is possible to be a fullname. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alax81 (talkcontribs) 02:48, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Alex from Silent Hill Homecoming?[edit]

Why is he not listed? -- (talk) 21:42, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
