What actually are the oldest lyrics

[edit]

It seems that over the history of this article the "oldest surviving lyrics" have changed beyond all recognition, so much so that the "meaning" section now refers almost exclusively to phrases that aren't there. These surely can't still be the oldest surviving lyrics? And nobody has even bothered to explain the reason for their edits here. 81.101.197.228 (talk) 21:23, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And the existing "Meanings" section is redundant. I agree with this comment. The article needs expert care, i.e., knowledgeable editing. Zaslav (talk) 05:28, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I believe I've seen it bottle flies not butterflies. I't a slave mother feeding the the owners baby while her baby it starving with flies around him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C44:757F:AACA:1965:6D7B:CDF6:B845 (talk) 06:51, 27 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
