Plot Summary

[edit]

OK team Gigolo I removed “narcissistic” and I’m ready to go to the mattresses for it. Anyone reverting this better have a lot more than some teenage reviewer’s screed to defend it.--Skates61 (talk) 05:23, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone correct the plot summary? I've never seen the film, but I assume there's something wrong with the sentence "Leon had conceived of the plan to frame Antonio javier garcia machuca ( homosexual friend)) later he said I'am for antonio ." Tiger Khan (talk) 01:30, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Film reception

[edit]

I had hoped to see some information about how this film was received, whether it was successful (critically and financially). I was young when it was released and I remember it was very controversial. A paragraph or two on this would really enhance this article. Newjerseyliz (talk) 14:10, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As far as financial success, what part of the box on the right side of the page, did you not understand? $4 million budget, and $22 million box office receipts. Marc S. 206.192.35.125 (talk) 18:41, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Do you recall what the controversy was over? Skates61 (talk) 05:25, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Was American Gigolo rated X in the U.S. as its original rating

[edit]

if I don't know about that, you will be terrified it will be pornographic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.75.245.226 (talk) 00:41, 22 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt it was a sexually suggestive film. For a 1980s era film, "And God created Women" with Rebecca Demornay was more sexually explicit. Marc S. 206.192.35.125 (talk) 18:43, 8 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Actor Portraying Mr. Rheiman

[edit]

The link to Tom Stewart provided in the page links to that of a U.S. senator of the same name, who died eight years before this film was released. I tried to find the page for the actor Tom Stewart using the disambiguation page for the name, but the only page currently made for Tom Stewart the actor is of a different Tom Stewart as well (one born in 1988). I'm not totally sure what to do here but thought I'd bring attention to this oversight. SoftBoyOrsonWelles (talk) 02:20, 16 June 2018 (UTC)SoftBoyOrsonWelles[reply]

Link removed. There is no article for this Tom Stewart. -- Pemilligan (talk) 15:29, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
