Cupula of diaphragm
[edit]I suggest some disambiguation from the cupula of the diaphragm. Thomas.Hedden (talk) 18:35, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Isn't the cupula just sensing fluid motion instead of proprioception? When the cupula senses something (like when a train suddenly breaks it is surely a connection of the body to the outside world. I thought proprioception referred to inner body senses, the relative position of body parts to each other. The things the cupula detects are both I think, sensing the movement of the head opposed to the stationary body and movements of the body as a whole.Viridiflavus (talk) 13:07, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Effects of alcohol
[edit]The citation for this section does not exist and the explanation is not accurate. I am rewriting based on a textbook explanation from http://books.google.ca/books?id=dFevxJ0mJncC&pg=PA285&lpg=PA285&dq=cupula+buoyancy+hypothesis&source=bl&ots=Vtd49U7_HZ&sig=3SWuJ2s5JmZrw45BNbXpGdzdQzg&hl=en&ei=4o1dTcL6BcP48AaPoMXOCg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBUQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=cupula%20buoyancy%20hypothesis&f=false which I will cite. It is possible that there are other theories of why alcohol causes dizziness. Pklala (talk) 21:18, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
