- Failure to thrive would be the umbrella classification for all situations where an infant fails to, well, thrive. Hospitalism (or analitic depression) is a specific subset where the cause is a lack of social contact while in hospital. Rossami (talk) 21:29, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
