Aquaman the Big Stupid Loser

This article needs to go into more detail about Aquaman being a loser. I don't care what some fanboys and some dude who traces for a living say how powerful he is. Most people know Aquaman as the loser from the Superfriends who talks to fish (big dea) and can't ever get a date. --Boycottthecaf 16:29, 24 July 2005 (UTC)

Its called Inking. Jack Cain 06:53, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

from the movie Chasing Amy:

  • Holden: Sorry about him, he's dealing with being an inker.
  • Alyssa: Oh... you trace.

I rest my case, buddy boy. --Boycottthecaf 21:33, 22 August 2005 (UTC)

Anyway........quit being stubborn about this article, this isnt your place to post random bashing, I reccomend going to the Uncyclopedia for fun. Jack Cain 22:25, 22 August 2005 (UTC)

Absolutely. C'mon, everyone KNOWS Aquaman is the most un-super super hero there is. "Yeah, I bet your amazing ability to breath underwater and talk to fish will be useful." Atzel 11:49, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Who Wrote This Garbage?

Idiotic articles like this have no place here.

I will repair it.

Aquaman's reputation as a loser is well known. Due to the Superfriends, it is more well known to people than any revision that tries to portray him as a tough ruler of the seas. Trying to delete criticism of Aquageek isn't holding this article up to a NPOV. --Boycottthecaf 23:19, 24 July 2005 (UTC)

Your attempt at including a ridiculous link and idiotic rhetoric regarding this comic icon only makes you look the fool, Boycottthecaf. DrachenFyre 23:26, July 24, 2005 (UTC)

Oh no, the guy who likes Power Rangers and Yu-gi-oh said I'm a fool. Whatever will I do? --Boycottthecaf 01:37, 25 July 2005 (UTC)

Says the guy who seems to have a raging man-crush on John Stamos. DrachenFyre 02:51, July 25, 2005 (UTC)

What do you mean by seems to? More like does, dumbass. --Boycottthecaf 03:18, 27 July 2005 (UTC)

What kind of loser picks a fight with a FICTIONAL CHARACTER?

User:Dooreen, exact same vandal edits as User:Boycottthecaf. Marking it as possible sockpuppet. --khaosworks 09:12, August 5, 2005 (UTC)

Just to add: User:Boregard vandalized Aquaman shortly after User:Dooreen, look it up. <drini > 16:31, 5 August 2005 (UTC)

Fuck you guys. I had to look up what you mean by sockpuppet, and I assure you I have never met those two awesome dudes in my life. Maybe you need to accept that more and more people know Aquman is an cocksucker. By the way, I don't shove my fist up anyone's ass but my girlfriend's. Thank you very much. --Boycottthecaf 05:40, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

Modern Age section?

Any chance of cutting or making briefer the Modern Age section at all? It seems rather obtuse to me... Anthony Dean 02:33, August 6, 2005 (UTC)

I would gladly edit it down if people think it's a good idea. Much of that information really belongs on a purely Aquaman website, not on Wiki. I did, however, add information up to the most current issue of the book to get the Wiki up-to-date. August 11, 2005

Agree that it belongs more on a website than here---while one can describe what's going on in his current comics, I don't think a complete pages-length summary of every single storyline from the past 15 years (or as much detail as is listed for his origin) is required. Anthony Dean 22:48, August 11, 2005 (UTC)
I hesitate to edit it down only because I'm really new to Wikipedia and didn't write the original. I'm not sure what the procedure is for properly editing it down. I added the stuff starting with the Imperiex War, all of which could easily be edited further if people think it's too much. And yes, I know my tenses are all screwed up. August 11, 2005

Think I've managed to edit the Modern Age section down to a reasonable size; I'm sure anyone who wants to know more details (or obscure plotpoints) can go to one of the several Aquaman websites linked to. Anthony Dean 17:47, August 12, 2005 (UTC)
I think you did a good job on the edits. It reads nicely to me, except for the problem with tenses which may still be my fault. I'm getting the hang of this Wiki thing, and I think I'm even logged in now. I'll keep an eye on the entry from here on out. Thanks, Anthony. Aquachick 04:00, 13 August 2005 (UTC)

Clarification

The article says Recent comics, however, depict Aquaman as an orphan of purely underwater heritage who was raised for a brief period of time by a lighthouse keeper named Arthur Curry. Shouldn't the lighthouse keeper be Tom Curry? --Gurubrahma 18:25, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

Well pre-crisis that was the case. Post-crisis Arthur was named after the lighthouse keeper who found him.

images

He has hands in every image! Too many hands! Let's see some fish-hooks here, people! -leigh (φθόγγος) 09:40, 20 November 2005 (UTC)

Animated

I could swear Aquaman made one appearance on the Superman series as a 'viking'. In fact, it's only tonight that I saw his first one, in the 'classic' look, and I was surprised.. I thought the other episode was his first appearance in the Dini/Timm canon.

Powers

I believe Aquaman's strength and speed are at superhuman levels. Demonstrated through the OMAC conflicts and in combat with Superboy in v3 when he is describing his powers to boy blue.

Infobox streamlining

Please see revelant topics at Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics/templates and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Comics#Infobox: Powers section. Thanks. dfg 05:37, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Aquaman and the Nazi Occult Connection

I would like to see the connection of Aquaman, as ruler of Atlantis, and his connection to Nazi Occult practices. I feel that this side of Aquaman desperately needs to be exposed. Including but not limited to:

- Himmlers 1938 search in Tibet for the remaining white Atlantians

- An analysis of Evola's "Revolt Against the Modern World" (1934) and his arguments that Atlantians were Nordic supermen and how Aquaman might, not might not, be a function of this assertion

- Alfred Rosernberg's "The Myth of the Twentieth Century" (1930) and his ideas of the Nordic-Atlantian/Aryan-Nordic race and how they might apply to Aquaman's citizenry.

- Various other Atlantian literature relating Atlantians to the idea of a "master race" including Blavatsky and Steiner. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.35.232.235 (talkcontribs).

But this is mere speculation. I don't think this is the right place to expose your theories. —Lesfer (talk/@) 16:13, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Whatever, it would be the most intresting thing in the article. Lots of Wiki articles have intresting speculation and this argument is much more legit. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.156.114.79 (talkcontribs).

I'm sorry, pal, but these articles containing speculation are clearly breaking official policy as per WP:WWPIN. Take a look at point 3. Keep in ming this is an encyclopedia, and not a forum to expose ideas and theories, and have debates about it. Regards —Lesfer (talk/@) 22:13, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

By "keep in ming this is an "encyclopedia"", I can only assume you mean "keep in MIND this encyclopedia has an article on "hand jobs" and therefor is a joke" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.222.14.5 (talkcontribs)

Yep, you've assumed it right! Regarding your comments:
  • Handjob is a term that describes the sexual stimulation of a partner's penis using the hands and fingers. Therefore, no speculation.
  • Aquaman and the Nazi Occult Connection - nothing but theories, therefore, speculation.

Got it? Take a look at WP:WWPIN again. Regards and don't forget to sign your comments. —Lesfer (talk/@) 03:08, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Wait, wait.... I think I got it,

Lesfer is a total tool who gets a power trip editing dorky Wikipedia entries. no speculation

Lesfer is a virgin who lives in his parents basement and buys used panties off e-bay. speculation —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.35.238.18 (talkcontribs)

Now you got it, stud! —Lesfer (talk/@) 16:13, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

Reduced from "Top" to "Mid". This maybe low-balling the importance, but while it is a signature character for DC, it is not of critical importance to the medium as a whole. — J Greb 14:17, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
I'm inclined to agree that it's low-balling the importance, so I changed it to "High". These ratings are highly subjective, so I don't mind if you change it again. My primary reasoning for upping the importance is the long history of publication in solo magazines and the plethora of appearances in other media. --GentlemanGhost 15:19, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
