A Question

[edit]

In the paragraph: Since most of the circulating estrogen is produced by the ovaries, not by conversion of androgens to estrogen, blocking the enzyme aromatase does not significantly decrease the production of estrogen.

My question: Do not the same processes of androgen to estrogen conversion take place in both the adrenals and ovaries via aromatization? Thanks for your clarification. 1000oakswlv (talk) 15:53, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another Question

[edit]

Regarding this the article

My question: I recently read at [1] that there are natural, herbal aromatase inhibitors such as passion flower. Could this article be expanded beyond its medical paradigm to encompass that aspect as well?Loverofmyoho (talk) 04:45, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

References

I noticed this redirected here but the phrase is not used on the page? Could someone explain it in a section?

Also would testosterone blocker also be aromatase inhibitor or something different? 184.145.18.50 (talk) 18:58, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think estrogen blockers are distinct from aromatate inhibitors so it should not redirect here. - Rod57 (talk) 08:35, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Do they really block the action of estrogen on receptors

[edit]

Intro says "... or block the action of estrogen on receptors" but this seems wrong, and not supported by the rest of the article. Surely, from the name and rest of the article, they only inhibit the production of estrogen ? - Rod57 (talk) 08:27, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
