Notability[edit]

Here are some references as to the ASP's notability. They don't really go in the article and I'm not sure where else to put them - hopefully this is right.

  • ASSOCIATION OF SHAREWARE PROFESSIONALS: ASP members wa walk away with top honors. on M2 Presswire, , August 6, 1999[1].
  • Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP) Announces New Author Standards. on Businesswire, August 7, 1995[2].
  • SHAREWARE: A MATTER OF TRUST PAYMENT? OPTIONAL. COPYING? NO PROBLEM. THAT MAKES IT WORK. Page C01, The Philadelphia Inquirer, June 21, 1993[3].
  • PERSONAL TECHNOLOGY TECH REPORT ON TECHNOLOGY : Single CD-ROM offers giant haul of shareware, The Atlanta Journal and the Atlanta Constitution[4].
  • TAKING SOFTWARE FOR A TEST DRIVE SIDEBAR: TO GET THERE FROM HERE The Boston Globe, October 27, 1995[5].
  • PERIPHERALS;A Bountiful Grab Bag of Programs New York Times, April 30, 1996. [6]
  • SOFTWARE; They Give It Away, Get Plenty Back New York Times June 13, 2001[7].

These were all sourced through Google News, which I believe makes them reputable sources for Wikipedia purposes. Unfortunately many of them are pay-per-view but the article summary on Google News demonstrates that they are relevant. They all refer to the ASP in non-trivial ways. --Irrevenant [ talk ] 08:54, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The ASP currently has more than 800 members worldwide, and each of these members are either professional software companies or services used by software developers. Those members will have contributed to most of the applications currently running on your computer.Wallumbase (talk) 08:45, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
