Is Abner Pyromaniac? I would like to read literarty critics stating that, since in litarature courses at University Mainz, Abner is generally referred to as not being pyromaniac.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.169.98.219 (talkcontribs).

You know, it's funny. I've never read a summary of "Barn Burning" that describes Ab as a pyromaniac, but for some reason I was EXPECTING the wikipedia article to, and of course, I was right. This is due to the tendencies of wikipedians to try to fit any very specific word in their vocabulary into any article where the word might passively look like it belongs. In this case, it does not. From the wikipedia article on pyromania: "pyromaniacs are also distinct from those who start fires because of psychosis, for personal, monetary or political gain, or for acts of revenge." Ab obviously vandalizes as an act of revenge which is not evidence of pyromania.

- and what's with the sentence reg. Ab Snopes? "Although he is impulsive and abusive, there is a sympathetic light that has too been seen from his character" - could I have a reference and an explanation to what is meant? Labutterfly (talk) 17:00, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Text should be moved to Wikisource why?

Actually, text is copyrighted, I'm pretty sure. So, really, it shouldn't be here at all. :) I'm removing it, but it would be great if someone could write a decent plot summary to make up for it. Midnightdreary 03:17, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"The Faulkneresque, run-on sentences are longish with a lot of commas which separate the subordinate clauses." doesn't fit with the rest of the article and is really a poor piece of writing —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.159.108.187 (talk) 06:43, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

lol

Summary incomplete[edit]

The summary is only of the first ~15% of the story. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.1.50.60 (talk) 04:59, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
