Number of species

[edit]

The page for Basidiomycota says it contains 22300 species, making up 37% of known fungus species. The ascomycomycota page says it has 12000 species, making up 75% of known fungus species. This is a problem. Both pages require expert attention, but I don't know how to mark them that way. --Savant13 14:07, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree there is confusion. Until checked in The Dictionary of the Fungi (2001), I think the two sets of numbers should be removed. A new edition is being prepared which will have more numbers.Heliocybe 12:53, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds like my Science Professor

[edit]

Ouch. This article needs MAJOR cleanup- there's all these scientific words and no explaination what they mean. I can't get any information off this thing. --AK-17 18:48, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One annoyance

[edit]

This is annoying
In some of the scientific pages in Wikipedia there is not a word orgin for the division, or kingdom, name. Also no enviroment is given —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.10.186.175 (talk) 23:51, 12 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I don't know what you mean by "not a word origin" or by "no environment". Please explain your thoughts further if you would like an explanation.Heliocybe 13:27, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Have added the meaning of the word Basidiomycota and where its members live — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.10.186.175 (talk) 16:54, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mushrooms In The Pic

[edit]

The mushrooms in the "Basidiomycota" pic/gif/jpg/whatever are rather fantastic in appearence. Can someone name them so that whoever was curious about them, could look them up? Thank you!24.83.178.11 15:34, 16 May 2007 (UTC)BeeCier[reply]

honestly you need to put those words in a type of average language —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.225.51.41 (talk) 16:21, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Walleniomycetes should not say no phylum

[edit]

They obviously do have a phylum, Basidiomycetes, if they are listed on this page. 216.165.95.64 (talk) 15:54, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
