Spelling
Why is this article spelled "Fontenay?" I have never seen the name of this battle spelled this way. Jinxuandi (talk) 15:43, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
References and Citations
This is a nicely written article, why doesn't it have any references at all? See: Wikipedia:Verifiability.Tttom1 (talk) 00:52, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Hatnotes
see: Wikipedia:Hatnote Non-existent articles Hatnotes should not be used for articles that do not exist since the notes are intended to point the user to another article they may have intended to find. The exception is if one intends to create the linked article immediately. In that case, consider creating the new article first, before saving the addition of the hatnote. no article exists for Fontenay 1944. article has many redlinks needs cleanup.Tttom1 (talk) 03:51, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Battle of Fontenay (841) → Battle of Fontenoy (841) — In modern works Fontenoy is the conventional spelling while Fontenay seems to be obsolete. --Angus McLellan (Talk) 14:21, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Cant find this stanza supposedly by Angilbert about this battle
Saw this quote on a blog but can not found these lines in any reliable source:
"Angilbert (fl. ca. 840/50), On the Battle Which was Fought at Fontenoy: The Law of Christians is broken, Blood by the hands of hell profusely shed like rain, And the throat of Cerberus bellows songs of joy."
Doesn't seem out of line with parts of the poem I could source, but had no luck finding it. Wowaconia (talk) 00:14, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
