[edit]Glaucoma is something which can affect dogs quite quickly. I have a cross patterdale terrier called Tess. She went blind in one eye over night. The pressure had built up so much that we had no choice but to have her eye removed. Then one day we were out walking and Tess cowered to the ground. So I picked her up and noticed her other eye was cloudy. Rushing her to the vets we then found out that she had gone blind in the other too. We didn't have very much time to think about what we should do. So we had her other eye removed. Luckily Tess however adapted and coped within days. She runs up and down stairs, across the farm and plays with balls. In fact if she wasn't blind then you would never even though. Animals are fantastic creatures who can adapt to the most challenging environments and Tess is an inspiration.
Removing non-notable article references
[edit]I have removed edits promoting a non-notable article written by Jacob M. Appel that are similar to those added by a blocked editor at Blindness. To readd this info, please discuss here first and provide links to significant independent news coverage to help determine the story's notability and reasons it should be included in this article.Flowanda | Talk 09:32, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
Blind species of animals
[edit]I really think we should remove this part. Not only is there zero hope of this ever being comprehensive due to so many deep-sea creatures (e.g. Acanthacaris caeca), but on top of that, it's so woefully incomplete and will always be so woefully incomplete that it's of almost no use to readers and even actively distracts from the article.
