proposed deletion

[edit]

I have removed the proposed deletion tag for the following reasons. First, I know of no precedent for a college or unviersity article to be deleted. I believe college/university articles are inherently notable. This is different from the schools AfD debates because those deal with primary/secondary schools, while Bramson is a tertiary undergraduate institution. Furthermore, Bramson ORT College is a more than 50 year old institution affiliated with a large, worldwide charity which has its own WP article. Second, when I created this article, it was a stub. I appreciate the subsequent contributions by Daniel, which have greatly expanded the article. Even though some of it now reads like a brochure, this is not fatal - that is a matter of bias, neutrality, etc., not notability. I will make edits to fix some of the recruiting brochure language soon. Finally, at the very least, I believe Bramson ORT College, as the only private non-profit accredited college in Forest Hills, is notable as a place of local interest. • I saw mention that this page needed editing with an eye toward making it more objective so I've given it a go. I also noticed a few inaccuracies in the information itself (based on a review of the information available through the other ORT web sites and from other ORT publications) so I went through a corrected some of that as well. I also trimmed down the external links - if there's a link to the school's website and course catalog already, we don't need external links to each individually department on the same site. I added links to the associated organizations and schools that are also within the ORT network. Lastly, I corrected (and shortened a bit) the section on World ORT since World ORT has a growing page of it's own so I tried to eliminate duplicatation while still showing the two institutions' connections. dmnyc 21:13, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
