158th MEB SSI

[edit]

158th MEB's SSI and info can be seen at http://www.tioh.hqda.pentagon.mil/Heraldry/ArmyDUISSICOA/ArmyHeraldryUnit.aspx?u=7594, if someone could locate a .svg of the SSI and upload it would be helpful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.175.208.243 (talk) 18:57, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Support Brigade section

[edit]

McChizzle deleted the links to Support Brigades (401st through 411th) at Brigade insignia of the United States Army with comment, "According to TIOH, all of these support brigades were canceled by HQDA G-1 directives on 21 February 2010." The TIOH page for those brigades' heraldry reflects that point, but would it be appropriate to display these insignia for historical representation? Separately, 916th Support Brigade still exists (at Fort Irwin), so that insignia (here) merits representation in the Support Brigade section.--Trilotat (talk) 16:56, 14 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The page appears to have SSIs that are still in use by the US Army. If we want to also put historical brigade SSIs on this page, we have a heck of a lot of work to do. If the 916th is still active, it should be added to the page regardless of what we decide to do about the historical SSIs. --McChizzle (talk) 13:33, 15 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed; perhaps adding historical SSIs is beyond the purview of this particular article. I added the 916th's SSI. --Trilotat (talk) 00:46, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Why are CSIBs better than SSI?

[edit]

@Illegitimate Barrister: I see you've replaced some Shoulder Sleeve Insignia (SSI) with Combat Service Identification Badges (CSIBs). Why is one better than the other? Trilotat (talk) 16:30, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
