Actual size of wilderness
[edit]The Eastern Wilderness Act of 1975 set aside 6,500 acres (2,600 ha) for the Bristol Cliffs Wilderness but Wilderness Connect claims that the area consists of 3,750 acres (1,520 ha). I am unable to resolve the discrepancy. Tom Scavo (talk) 20:18, 27 December 2019 (UTC)
- Apparently 2,500 acres (1,000 ha) were subsequently removed from Bristol Cliffs Wilderness. "This marked the only time in United States history that acreage was actually withdrawn from a wilderness area."[1] I haven't been able to confirm that, however. - Case solved. See the main article for details. Tom Scavo (talk) 00:51, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
