Nazi Connections

I removed the following section from the main page. Given the nature of this statement, I don't think it should be made without a citation.

Although commonly accused of breaking U.S. law by financing Nazi Germany, the opposite is true. Under the encouragement of the United States, BBH loaned the German government money post-WWI to pay reparations to the Allies. During the time, these loans were being paid off, Hitler rose to power and froze all outside finances in Germany. Far from financing the Nazi government, Brown Brothers Harriman actually took a massive hit from the asset freeze. The firm was fortunate not to be bankrupted by the ordeal.

The Nazi-connection of BBH is more than just a rumour, it is by now well documented if you want to see it, such as in this article in The Guardian: How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2004/sep/25/usa.secondworldwar). This Wikipedia article is a distortion of reality as long as it does not include this historical information.

You people make me laugh. What is about ? ignorance or propagande ? This fucking firm is smelling bad how can u wrote such subject without any words about nazi links and all those dirty people ? what do you have between your two eyes ? a brain or a hole ?

Service During World War II

Leading up to, and throughout World War II, partners and employees of Brown Brothers Harriman made notable contributions to the Allied effort. Across Brown Brothers Harriman’s staff, 86 employees served during World War II, representing over one-third of the firm’s workforce during that period.

National service by certain partners covered a wide range of areas. W. Averell Harriman served as ambassador to the Soviet Union between 1943 and 1946, and ambassador to the United Kingdom in 1946, while his brother E. Roland Harriman served as manager of the American Red Cross in the North Atlantic area. Averell Harriman also helped coordinate the Lend-Lease program while serving as Franklin Roosevelt's special envoy to Europe. Prescott Bush served for several years as National Campaign Chairman of the United Services Organizations (USO). Robert Lovett served as Assistant Secretary of War for Air, overseeing an expansion of the Army Air Forces and the procurement of aircraft which had a significant impact on the war's outcome.
