Notability
[edit]Hello. I originally created the article CKY discography a few years back, a dazed and confused CKY fanboy who just wanted to create articles everywhere. I now believe that the article is pointless, and that it is nowhere near notable enough for its own article (besides a section on the band page). By 'notable' I mean that there is no additional information being included in this discography article; yes, there is format and record label information for every release, but really this is just superficial information and will be included in each album article itself. Usually a discography article has chart and sales data (Wolfmother discography, Red Hot Chili Peppers discography), and plenty of independent external references to back things up. This has nothing – CKY have never had a charting record, they have released very few singles, none of which are notable enough for even their own articles, and I believe there is nothing else to warrant a discography article. I therefore propose that this article is redirected to CKY (band)#Discography, as it does not fulfill notability requirements. Andre666 (talk) 21:49, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- I disagree, and notability is not an issue here. This is content that would normally be included in an article on artist unless for size reasons it is split out into a separate article. The discography itself does not need to be 'notable'. The article is also not pointless - this information is far easier to access here than rooting through multiple articles on the band and their albums, and some of the information here is not present in other articles. In short, the band is notable, and this is verifiable, encyclopedic information, and it should stay. --Michig (talk) 22:26, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
