In Captivity[edit]

This page has way too much info on keeping them as pets and not enough about them in general. It would be wonderful if someone knowledgeable about these snakes could fix it. I'm afraid everything I know about them is keeping them as pets FyreFiend 16:49, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

I agree (though almost ten years later haha). I will add some information and probably tone down the "in captivity" section, since the purpose of wikipedia isn't to be a manual on how to keep pet snakes. This is a very common and well known species, it's actually sort of ridiculous that there isn't a more developed article about them. I know L. g. californiae is a subspecies, but there's not much info on the species page either. Connorlong90 (talk) 05:08, 19 April 2016 (UTC)

In particular, are they venomous? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.134.192.254 (talk) 11:10, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Nope. --Calibas (talk) 18:17, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

It is not venomus[edit]

The california kingsnake is not venomus so do not be afraid. Do not kill it. as many know, earth is very poluted. Use less gas and we can save animals like it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.3.166.189 (talk) 23:30, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
