Merge proposal

An IP has proposed merging Carcharocles into Otodus, so I though I would open up a discussion here. It seems standard in the literature now to refer to the species formerly included in Carcharocles within Otodus, so it has my tenative support. I agree that Carcharocles should be merged with Otodus to avoid confusion. All of these pages need major cleanups. Carnoferox (talk) 03:05, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Support If this was a few years ago I would be hesitant, but at this point the majority of authors no longer recognize Carcharocles as a valid taxon, and I highly doubt it would ever make a come back unless the rules of cladistics gets abandoned.
