I don't know wether this is relevant, but we lived in southern France in a rural town about an hour's drive away from Toulouse, and we had these in a lake near us. Might it be worth putting that in? 90.193.90.236 (talk) 04:04, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Caspian turtle (Mauremys caspica) article fails to recognize western Caspian turtle (Mauremys rivulata) as a separate species

[edit]

Judging from the dates of the references, the western Caspian turtle, treated as M. c. rivulata here, is now considered to be its own species Mauremys rivulata, which has its own separate article: Balkan terrapin. The two paragraphs in the Caspian turtle article that mention M. c. rivulata should probably be edited to reflect this. All images in the Caspian turtle article appear to be of Mauremys rivulata based on their locations and should probably be replaced. I heard you like clades (talk) 23:03, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and made the relevant edits, but the page could now use some pictures. I heard you like clades (talk) 23:33, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
