While I was wikifying this version of the article, the text sounded a lot like it was lifted from a book of some sort. Anyone have an opinion on the matter? RayaruB 20:35, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for working on the text and adding the links. The words were written by Linda Le Merle who also has written a longer history of the Chateau that can be downloaded at the Chateau D'Oigny En Valois website - www.chateauoigny.com. I have added the external link to the revised version your created As a wikipedia beginner, is there anything I need to do to clean this up? Thanks
Also, can you explain why when I search wikipedia for words like "Chateau Oigny" this article does not yet appear?

Hi... unfortunately, this text violates the copyright of [1], so it will need to be taken down. Perhaps you would like to rewrite the article in your own words? --RayaruB 13:06, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
More information on Wikipedia's copyright policy can be found at Wikipedia:Copyrights. Essentially, the text needs to be licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License for us to use it here. As for why the article does not show up... a special page called a "redirect" would need to be created for it to work like that. I would be happy to make one for this page if you or another editor decides to rewrite the text. --RayaruB 13:13, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've reduced the article to a stub and removed the copyright violation. Please note that if you are the owner of the copyright, you can follow the steps on Wikipedia:Copyright problems, quoting:

Copyright owners who submitted their own work to Wikipedia: If you submitted work to Wikipedia which you had previously published (especially online), and your submission was marked as a potential infringement of copyright, stating that you are the copyright holder of the work on the article's talk page helps, but will not likely prevent deletion. It is sufficient to:
  • Make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL at the site of the original publication.
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions at wikimedia dot org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation.

Feel free to expand the article, or restore the text if the correct method of providing permission, as described above, is followed. Jude (talk, contribs, email) 05:23, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
