The word "Chav" used in school, late 80s
In a Maidstone secondary school during the late 80s, the word "Chav" was widely used to describe the rougher boys that generally came from the Chatham region or the smaller areas north of Bluebell hill. The word was used nearly every day all through the early 90s in that school. 2A00:23C5:ECE6:2201:5DC2:385:AE20:AD8E (talk) 20:12, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
Requested Edit: MTE
This initialism should be expanded for readers unfamiliar with the term. The link sends the reader to the "Toronto Slang" article, but nowhere in that article does the initialism appear. I had to Google it, but even then, "My Thoughts Exactly" was the featured result. After more investigation, I concluded "Multicultural Toronto English" must be the intended meaning since "My Thoughts Exactly" made no sense in this particular context. Please someone fix this. Thank you. 66.91.36.8 (talk) 05:44, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
- Done, and yes, I think it was supposed to be "Multicultural Toronto English". I don't think the link is necessary so I've simply removed it. – filelakeshoe (t / c) 🐱 09:03, 2 February 2023 (UTC)
