main thesis
[edit]The main thesis of the review is that the book is about sexual freedom and the negative side effects which may occur.
I don't agree with that.
Brunner created a last cry of a prophet not honored in his own land. He just got mad about all the ever rising stupidity (in his notion) in society, politics, culture, arts etc. And he created a plan of revenge: "Infect the world with a dominant mutation of man who do use their brain." That's the plot. This sexual thesis is just a reflex of not willing to see the obvious. With this thesis the creation of a dominant mutation makes no sense but is counterproductive.
Maybe I reread the book some day and rework this article. Horst Emscher (talk) 16:09, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
