Chilwell[edit]

Is Chilwell considered as a village, an area of Beeston or a seperate suburb? Sorry for messing up the edit history. Bevo74 08:19, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a teenager who lives in Chilwell and I reckon it's a seperate suburb because me and my friends talk about going to Beeston and living in Chilwell. [Unsigned contribution by Slaterboi-91 21:57, 15 August 2006]
I'd suggest that when I was growing up in the area thirty years ago, it was as much a suburb of Beeston as anything. However Chilwell is now a separate suburban area of the Greater Nottinghan conurbation. The decline of nearby local employment at the REME in Chilwell Depot, and at the Boots and Plessey/GEC/Marconi/Siemens factories in Beeston means that there are many more local people making longer distance commutes.--Lang rabbie 22:09, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
