[edit]A great start for this new page! You have a fairly comprehensive introduction to the fly's habitat, life history, and morphology. It would be nice to expand on their relation to close relatives under Taxonomy section and their mating behavior (under social behavior, or add in a section on its own). You can also add links to specific words or terms that have their own pages on Wikipedia. Additionally, I have noticed a few topics that would be good to include: Description, Predators, Parasites or Enemies, Ecological importance (interactions with other species and environmental functionality), and perhaps Conservation (habitat loss).
Also a quick note - please use citations wherever it's applicable so that the readers can refer back to the primary literature. Your reference list might need some more formatting - try add them in through the "cite" function, with a consistent format and in form of links. Alicelixuan (talk) 16:41, 1 October 2019 (UTC)
This is a very thorough, well thought-out entry! The fly's life history section in particular was nicely comprehensive. I made some general grammar and sentence structure edits, as well as linked more of the article's words to existing Wikipedia pages. I also expanded a bit on what a macrophyte is in the "Habitat" section, for readers' ease of understanding the next sentences. To minimize repetition, I also replaced some of the uses of C. annularius with "the fly" or "the species", to vary the language. If you continue to work on this fly, it might be helpful to add a separate "Mating Behavior" section and a picture or two--but overall, really great article! Hi! Great article! I went ahead and added a bit more information to the lead section and changed around a few header names and organization. I took out a lot of the scientific usage of the fly name since it does not need to be repeated so much. I also suggest finding a photo! The fly is apparently common and widespread so there is likely to be a picture of the fly that is available to use. Mvardy417 (talk) 03:17, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
Hi, I think you made some great strides on this article. I made some minor edits to your article.I reworded the sentences about geography for clarity. I moved the part about males out of the blurb at the beginning because it wasn't clear enough in the context and I changed and added to it to more align with the citation.I added units to the frequencies andI got rid of the (females) in parenthesis of mates, its safe to assume that the mates of males are female. I think going forward, get rid of flourishes (i.e. Just to name a few, for example), I edited these out. Under distribution, I got rid of the “they tend to flourish around bodies of water” because it is better in the habitat section, where it is already stated.I would recommend changing human interaction to one cohesive section, the direct/indirect seems arbitrary. Remember to not link to things without a page(the johnstons organ). Good Job! Asivamohan (talk) 02:10, 18 October 2019 (UTC) Asivamohan (talk) 02:11, 18 October 2019 (UTC)asivamohan
