Client (Ancient Rome) and Cliens should be merged as duplicate articles on the same topic. I don't have a strong feeling about which should be the primary name, though I probably prefer the disambiguated English over the Latin. Eluchil404 (talk) 04:06, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, both to the merger (strongly) and (mildly) to calling the merged article Client (ancient Rome), because I think even in classical scholarship you're more likely to read the Anglicized form. You might want to look also at clientela; I could be persuaded, but at the moment I don't see why it needs a separate article either (and the first paragraph is either not true, or true only for a very early period, as I'm sure Marcus Crassus would be amused to know he was allowed to enter into business contracts).
