Claims about #1 in the Download chart

[edit]

A look at UK Official Download Chart#History clearly denies such a claim. Before the start of that chart there were certainly internal trial runs to check systems and remedy any statistical or technical data collection problems. These test were within Millward Brown, the company that collects raw data for the Official Charts Company. List of number-one music downloads (UK) provides several references, the piece referenced as no. 2 "Download Top 20". Music Week (London: CMP) (26 June 2004) clearly marks the first week when these internal technical tests were first published, ie. went outside Millward Brown/OCC. That Top 20 appeared exclusively in the printed verson of UK record trade magazine Music Week; see reference 4: [1]. 10 weeks later (1 Sep 2004) the UK Download Chart was officially launched, with other media (Radio 1, various websites) allowed to print it.

I'm inclined to delete the claims on Clones (song) unless referenced evidence for it comes forward. I've set several citation needed tags. Bleddynefans (talk) 08:33, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Since no eidence has been put forward I have now deteted these the claims. Bleddynefans (talk) 10:07, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
