Coat of arms or emblem
[edit]–Why is this page naming the coat of arms of Guatemala as an emblem? Nationally it is called an escudo or escudo de armas so in English it should be called a coat of arms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.149.149.234 (talk) 16:35, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
- It does not follow the rules of heraldry so it is no coat of arms. Snowsuit Wearer (talk|contribs) 19:45, 29 July 2015 (UTC)
However the Mexican equivalent is called a coat of arms and not an emblem, and also does not follow the rules of heraldry. It should be able to be considered as a coat of arms then if the Mexican page hasn't been changed. Lastly heraldry has nothing to do with how countries view their symbols and insignias in the 21st century.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.56.75.73 (talk) 23:01, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
