Château d’Assas
[edit]A sentence without reference has been added on 12 September 2015 in the Wikiarticle Patrick Geddes and in the one about Château d’Assas in Montpellier, asserting that 1°/ Patrick Geddes bought it “at the beginning of the 1920s” and 2°/ that PG founded the Collège des Écossais in Montpellier “in 1890”.
It would be very important to know where does that come from.
Important as regards to the Collège which, up to now, PG is supposed to have founded when coming back from India, in 1924. (Even if he undoubtedly had it in mind much before, probably during his very first stay in France when he was studying in Paris and Roscoff.)
As regards to the château d’Assas, maybe it would help to understand why there is not a trace left there of any PG’s intervention, either in the fields of city planning, education, community building, gardening or botany…
So, thanks a lot to anybody who can indicate some references about these facts and dates.
