Landed here by accident. Should this page be deleted as it means nothing to me, it lacks any context and nothing links to it.

Seems to be a complete copy of a private webpage. Is anyone able to improve it, or should it be deleted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.12.179.77 (talkcontribs)

I agree with you completely--that it should be deleted as an unsalvageable mess, and have prodded it. --Fuhghettaboutit 01:59, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm rewriting it to make it understandable. SWATJester Ready Aim Fire! 05:06, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please add a tag showing that you are editing it at this time. Thx. --Mboverload 05:07, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like you did that for me. I've made major changes, it looks much better now. Also much of the wording has been changed to prevent any copyvio complaints. SWATJester Ready Aim Fire! 05:55, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article needs renaming?

[edit]

The opening paragraph states: "The word Commander in the unit's nomenclature refers both the entire unit, the headquarters section, and to the actual commanding officer." I've always believed that the COM part (as in ComMinPac, ComSubPac, ComPhibLant et.al.), refers solely to the Commanding Officer of any particular unit or formation. If so, should this article be renamed "Mine Squadron 7", and all references to COMINRON changed to MinRon, apart from the paragraph headed "Mission of Commander Mine Squadron Seven", which does seem to be about the person, rather than the unit.
And does anyone know what a "danning ship" is?
