Planned improvements[edit]

Hi! A few of us intend to improve this article by adding more content and linking to relevant articles. Also, we propose to change the title of this article to "Common ingroup identity model."

Here is our proposed outline:

  • Aspects of the model
  • Development of the Model
    • Research
  • Criticism
  • Applications
  • See Also: social identity theory, ingroup favoritism, contact hypothesis, self-categorization theory, stereotyping, discrimination

We would welcome any suggestions or ideas. Thanks! Jlchenn (talk) 07:56, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all. That all sounds very reasonable and I look forward to seeing what you do with the article. The only thing I can think to mention (and it is quite trivial) is that ‘see also’ sections generally do not include links that already exist in the article body. My guess would be that most of your see also suggestions will indeed be in the article body (as they are directly relevant) and so to also include them in the see also section would be a departure for standard Wikipedia style guidelines. Anyway, best of luck with the editing. Cheers Andrew (talk) 04:32, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
