The discussion of Calhoun's formulation of the Concurrent majority needn't be bound up with the particulars of his history. While the latter is interesting, Concurrent majority is a concept which stands on its own as a theoretically (Calhoun would argue practically) better way to ensure Government's correct representation of the Governed (better than a Numeric majority, at least).
what about Lani Guinier?
[edit]what about Lani Guinier? didn't she mine Calhoun's ideas here, with her "super majorities"? obviously she and like-minded African-Americans may not want to acknowledge a debt to Calhoun, a slaveowner and a defender of slavery, etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:18A:8101:2029:69A5:1289:A282:778C (talk) 18:34, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
