If it's in California it's probably the figeater beetle, they look almost the same JRR1968 (talk) 12:17, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I just looked up the Cotinis nitida because I wasn't sure what it was and there are a bunch of them flying around my yard in Fresno, CA. I noticed the article states that these beetles are found as far west as Texas... I am watching them in California right now :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cmracs (talkcontribs) 17:12, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It would be very nice to have a photograph of one of these most beautiful of beetles. I will attempt to create one of my own if no one beats me to it. NoDepositNoReturn (talk) 00:04, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Appears to have been done.--AlastairIrvine (talk) 08:44, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Taxonomy

I noted that tribe is different for Figeater beetle, despite same Genus as Cotinis nitida.--AlastairIrvine (talk) 08:44, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
