Ave Maria lyrics

[edit]

The track listing of Ave Maria is not the same as the wikilink provided. If one listens to the song on the album, it doesn't match up. That being the case, is anyone familiar with the version of Ave Maria which this album uses? Or is is possible that Yoko Kanno, as she does with most of her songs, simply make them up? I agree, it's definitely not the Ellens Dritter Gesang. If anyone has the liner notes and could give us the composer I'd be thrilled, it's a wonderful piece that I'd like to know more about. Off-hand it seems unlikely they recorded and composed it for the show, seems like the entire Warsaw Philharmonic would be a bit expensive. --192.231.40.3 (talk) 17:31, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's almost certain that Kanno wrote it herself. There is no other composer credited in the OST for the Ave Maria track, and it's certainly no classical piece (both because of harmony as well as orchestration, too modern and filmic). And "the Philharmonic has recorded music for several anime series. Notable shows include "Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo" Cowboy Bebop, Soukyuu no Fafner, Giant Robo: The Animation, Ah! My Goddess: The Movie, Princess Nine, Vision of Escaflowne, Wolf's Rain, Hellsing Ultimate,[2] and most recently, Genesis of Aquarion." (from the Wiki page on Warsaw Philharmonic), so it certainly is not too expensive. -- 84.196.224.52 (talk) 23:29, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
