under construction

[edit]

The page is under construction only... Yet to include the formulas and detailed explanation

two pages are similar or same topic. So modified the this page from the date from tha page given below Fracture Crack Tip Opening Displacement (CTOD) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.211.86.75 (talk) 11:48, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please include a more detailed definition

[edit]

The page currently appears to discuss how CTOD relates to other measures, and starts with a bold and inappropriate statement that LEFM is not valid (under what circumstances, one might ask). What it should, but does not yet, do is define in a detailed fashion what CTOD actually IS. In precise terms, how it is it defined? Where and under what circumstances is (are) the measurement(s) taken? Tpower27 (talk) 15:03, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pls include the mathematical expressions

[edit]

PLs include the mathematical expressions — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.211.86.75 (talk) 08:44, 30 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New Lead

[edit]

The lead is fairly scattered. May I suggest the following as a starting point for future edits:

In ductile materials, deformation occurs before cracks form. Crack Tip Opening Displacement or CTOD is the width of the deformed region that gives rise to a crack.
