"lira" vs "lyra"[edit]

Just anticipating questions -- I redirected Cretan lyra to Cretan lira. I chose the English spelling "lira" over "lyra" based on

(1) 173,000 Google hits for "Cretan lira" vs 63,000 for "Cretan lyra" and (2) less chance of confusion with "lyre."

No-sence change, I definatelly prefer Cretan lyra to cretan lira, not only people will pronounce it wrongly, but shows the decedance from the ancienr Lyra instrument. Redirect back! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.54.24.33 (talk) 04:25, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Google gives almost the same results for "cretan lyra" to "cretan lira" and bearing in mind that the results include the recent change to lira it is not correct reverting to lira, also pronounced laira in english. ISO for converting Green names to Latin would give "LYRA" for "ΛΥΡΑ". so I recommend that we revert back —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.50.66.76 (talk) 09:20, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
