Displacement
[edit]Bore and stroke given calculate to 1516.23 ci, not 1570. Stroke should be 6.34375 (11/32) according to [1], which is a copy of this article before it was edited in May 2019. AMCKen (talk) 23:17, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- You added that stroke value in 2008 but gave no source where it came from, I have added the figures quoted by Gunston which match fairly closely figures given by the Smithsonian Institute. Wikipedia and its mirrors should never be used as a reference source.
- The displacement using either set of values does not give 1570 cubic inches, it is not stated in the article but a likely reason is that the engine used articulated connecting rods, which give different strokes per rod. Calculators can not trump a manufacturer's drawing. We have been here before, many times. Nimbus (Cumulus nimbus floats by) 09:37, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
This page says the displacement is 1569. Articulated connecting rod engines usually give two numbers for the stroke, being the left and right banks have different ones. Would AMCKen's 6.34375 be the average of the two, and 6.25 be just one bank and 6.4375 (7/16) the other? [2] 2001:56A:FA85:3800:1B9:A131:7A34:A2D2 (talk) 18:44, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
