Lead[edit]

  • "The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) estimated winds of about 220 km/h (140 mph (1–minute sustained))." seems a bit boring and bland maybe a Meanwhile, before that sentence would be good IMO. YE Pacific Hurricane 03:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Shouldn't the article use DMY dates since it is outside of the NHC basins perWP:MOS? YE Pacific Hurricane 03:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Damage was heaviest in Mozambique, estimated at about $20 million (1994 USD)." is it me or is the word "the" missing? YE Pacific Hurricane 03:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • ", notably the cashew crop." what is a cashew crop? YE Pacific Hurricane
  • You use "caused" a lot in the lead, try other stuff like "was blamed for" "was responsible" "resulted in" "brought" ect, Don't worry, I have this problem too. YE Pacific Hurricane 03:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • " primarily Nampula Province where it moved ashore." second part is redundant since you mentioned the landfall earlier. YE Pacific Hurricane 03:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Not really, since I didn't mention where the landfall location was earlier. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:36, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Meteorological history[edit]

  • " On March 17, the JTWC also began tracking the system on March 17.[2]" Lol, you used "March 17" twice. YE Pacific Hurricane 03:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "That day, the JTWC estimated winds of 120 km/h (75 mph (1–minute sustained)), or the equivalent of a minimal hurricane,[2] and late on March 21, MF upgraded Nadia into an intense tropical cyclone.[1]" what categories. YE Pacific Hurricane 03:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • What do you mean what category? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:36, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
      • Like what categories was it on the SSHS, for example
        • How is that relevant? Neither MF nor JTWC use the SSHS. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 21:42, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "That day, the JTWC estimated winds of 120 km/h (75 mph (1–minute sustained)), or the equivalent of a minimal hurricane,[2] and late on March 21, MF upgraded Nadia into an intense tropical cyclone.[1]" I'd wikilink to their scales. YE Pacific Hurricane 03:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "t about 0100 UTC on March 23, Nadia made landfall on northern Madagascar near Vohemar, having weakened slightly from its peak.[1]" what was it's landfall intensity. YE Pacific Hurricane 03:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Per WP:OVERLINKING, you should wikilnk terms one in the article or once in the lead, body, infobox, ect. Right now, there's inconsistency.
  • "[3] The storm strengthened to reach a secondary peak intensity of 85 km/h (50 mph (10 minute sustained)" there seems to be a } missing after sustained, there is one, but shouln't there be 2 due to double parenthesis. YE Pacific Hurricane 04:06, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "and the circulation dissipated a day later.[3][1]" where? YE Pacific Hurricane 04:06, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Nowhere notable. I mentioned where it was in the previous sentence. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:36, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Impact and aftermath[edit]

  • Any preps? YE Pacific Hurricane 04:06, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "At the port in Nacala, two ships sank and the local harbor was wrecked;[8] one of the damaged ships spilled oil into the Bay of Nacala.[10] " the fourth part should be moved two after "two ships sank" part IMO. YE Pacific Hurricane 04:21, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "After the storm, about 300,000 people in Nampula Province in Mozambique required food and other goods." optional, this is GAN, not FAC after all, but to have more variety, change "about" to "roughly" and "people" to "residents". YE Pacific Hurricane 04:21, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "damage to sanitation facilities," wtf is that? YE Pacific Hurricane 04:21, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • A facility that deals with sanitation? It's like a sewage treatment plant, garbage center, whatnot. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:36, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The French government sent $48,000 worth of medicine, blankets, and food, the United Kingdom sent $373,134 for generators, water tanks, and roofing materials, and the Spanish government sent about $117,000 worth of food and tents" 1994 or 2012 USD? YE Pacific Hurricane 04:21, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Isn't it clear, given how the rest of the article is in 1994 USD? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:36, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • "In June 1994, the World Bank provided $20 million in assistance to the country due to the storm.[14] Cyclone Nadia contributed to fishing exports decreasing by $11 million during the year.[15]" see above. YE Pacific Hurricane 04:21, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Summary[edit]

I was a bit picky here. There seems to be some problems, but all should be easy to fix. Of course, it is on hold. YE Pacific Hurricane 04:21, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Passing. YE Pacific Hurricane 22:42, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
