DBCC Page Revised

I also decide to revise the DBCC Page with a Infobox and Pictures.

Advanced Technology Center Article Added

I added an article for the "Advanced Technology Center" and restored the links on this article to the appropriate article.

Advanced Technology Center Edit

I edited DBCC article today, to remove the link to the "Advanced Technology Center." I attend the ATC, and the corresponding article that the link linked to was actually a R&D group for Microsoft, and not the actual ATC school.

Currently, there is no article for the aforementioned school (the Advanced Technology Center).

Bachelor's Degree

Is it even possible for a community college to give Bachelor's Degrees? Roman Soldier 02:02, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

No, it is not. There is a serious debate over this decision because they must rename the college to reflect it is no longer a community college and it will also affect state funding. None the less, this seems to be a virtually sealed outcome because they have already added classes to reflect the changes (classes are available in the schedule that have course numbers above the previous limit for the school).Datapharmer 02:22, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

I think the big question is whether or not offering baccalaureate degrees merits it being described as a four-year college. After all, it still adheres to the community college mission, but only offers 2 four-year programs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.174.128.16 (talk) 15:45, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

-- kensan -- Aren't they going to be offering the Bachelor's Degree in the 2006-2007 school year?

DBCC does offer Bachelor's Degrees and have been holding classes for the last 6 months. It was decided by SACS Southern Association of Colleges and Schools that a name change was not required in the case of DBCC as the name Daytona Beach Community College was defined as refering to its serving the Daytona Beach Community, rather than as its status.

Daytona State now offers three additional BS degrees, Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (BSET) B.S. in Engineering Technology - Electrical Engineering Technology Concentration (BSEET) B.S. in Engineering Technology - Information Systems Technology Concentration (BSIST) further information is available at http://daytonastate.edu/admissions/bset.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.205.82.95 (talk) 14:55, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

New law changes school name, twice.

Per [1] and [2], the school's name was changed from Daytona Beach College, from Daytona Beach Community College, to Daytona State College. It is now a 4-year granting institution and only operates on a community basis for Adult Education. --eric (mailbox) 18:21, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Enrollment number conflict

In the info box it says a enrollment of 32088 but down below it has a enrollment number of approximately 14000, which seems like the more reasonable number. If somebody could figure out the proper enrollment number and make the change, thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pavelow235 (talkcontribs) 03:50, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

Just a guess, but the numbers could be conflicting because the College has several campuses, in different cities. The larger number might be the total enrollment across all campuses. Gamweb (talk) 11:33, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
