Very fine article! Here's everything, plus one question:

• In Description, the clipping "The sclerotium from which the stem arises is watery grayish and homogeneous in cross section,"; define 'homogeneous' (just because I wasn't sure if you meant the germain or a scientific def. of the word)

• In Micro. chars.', clipping "The spores are narrowly ellipsoid to ovoid,"; hmmm...is there a set range between elliptical and oval? Hard to visualize ;)

• • Now that you mention it, it might be worth making this spore shape & size a parameter in the mycomorphobox template ... In the meantime, try this:

• Also, in "The grayish color of the fruit bodies is caused by encrusted pigments (possibly melanin) that occur throughout the tissue of the stem and cap,"; clarify 'encrusted pigments'.

Q: Whenever a genus has only one species, at Wiki does the genus article typically reflect that species and/or have priority over it being the species article? Just curious. :) Rcej (Robert) - talk 04:45, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

• The article is named according to the genus according to Wiki guidelines, but invariably most data is about the species (the genus is really just a theoretical construct, while a species is more tangible). Comment: I don't know Fries' work at all, but I wonder about the use of the term "tribe". I guess taxonomic terminology hadn't really stabilised by 1821, and so Fries may have been using tribe for something other that its current meaning, particularly if Fries' tribes can have been raised to the rank of genus. I would suggest unlinking tribe (biology), which is a rank above the genus, and putting tribe in quote marks. This is of course only a minor issue. The only other room for improvement that I can see in this otherwise excellent article is in the distribution. I quite understand that information may be hard to find, but more details for Eurasia would be good. Is the species only found in Northern Hemisphere temperate regions, or in the Southern Hemisphere, too? --Stemonitis (talk) 06:47, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

That's a good point about Friesian tribes, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I will change it as you suggest (I'll have to fix some other mushrooms articles too), and I should probably mention Fries' use of the term in the tribe article when I find a good source.
