Whereas in "formal" Jewish literature, the Hebrew letter ת is usually transliterated as thof, this makes no sense when referring to a Russian Yiddish the public to which it was aimed invariably pronouncing the letter as sof. In short, nobody has ever heard of "Der Emeth"; the paper's name, in the eyes of all, is "Der Emes". Moreover, a few instances have already been changed (why so selectively?), and the Russian name is indeed "Der Emes". --Nathans 03:22, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
