This is missing a bit. Don Newkirk also had an album, with a song that gained moderate success, "Sweat You"--a significant piect that's missing from teh article.

Martial Artist

Don was also a martial arts instructor at New York Martial Arts Academy in Flushing, NY. Until 1998, when it closed its doors. He taught Jeet Kune Do concepts - which was the school's core discipline, Jeet Kune Do is the martial art training ethos invented and popularized by Bruce Lee. He also taught Kali (Filipino martial art) among other styles. Don was also a student of Wing Chun Kung Fu under Sifu Maurice Lewellyn.
